GAR held its third Membership Luncheon of 2022 – our 50th Anniversary Year – on Tuesday, June 7th at the GAR Office. We are so fortunate to have a large room/ facility to hold/host the luncheons as DeCordova completes its renovation. Hopefully, we will be back at DeCordova in its “new” facility in August. It’s getting close!!
The luncheon was catered by Chef Jordan with DeCordova, and the food was wonderful – as always! Especially, the tiramisu cheesecake!
Approximately 60 Members gathered to network and enjoy the luncheon. GAR’s 2022 President, Lisamarie Sheck, welcomed everyone. Lisamarie asked Bret Deason, Texas Classic Insurance, to offer the invocation and lead the Pledge of Allegiance. We even gave the Texas pledge. We need to work on that – a little. Lisamarie then thanked the Sponsors: Extra Comforts / Tammy Quisenberry; House to Home Inspections / Joey & Charlotte Kuykendall; and Service First Mortgage / Donna Dunning, Rachel Crider & Billy Mays.
Each sponsor provided lots of flyers, business cards and goodies at each place setting – as well as door prizes.

Residents of Quail Park – Blessings Abound as Blessing Bags are Distributed
The Public Relations Committee distributed 81 Blessings Bags to the residents of Quail Park.
There were approximately 54 women and 27 men (the number includes 17 residents in the Memory Care Unit) who received the Blessing Bag goodies. And what a “blessing” it was.
The bags were filled with toothpaste & a toothbrush; jigsaw puzzles; body wash; word search puzzles; small Kleenex packs; gripper socks; colored markers; a small throw; pencils and crayons and coloring books for the Memory Care Residents.
A special “Thank You” to our wonderful and generous Members who supported this initiative:
Beth Shearon Kevin Watson
Tracy Robinson Kay Bailey
Donna Dunning Jill Fochesato
Jane Mouhot Joni Dawson
Ann Blessing Vickie Davies
Kim Pendry Jane Johnson
Whitney Knieper Bill Vineyard
Pam Knieper Koweba Sprinkle
Elia Garces Jacque Gordon
Renee Gallagher Tammy Quisenberry
Town Square Title Terri Harmon
Robin Pearson
All Committee Members, who assisted in distributing the bags were “moved” by the residents who greeted them at their door. The beautiful stories, pictures, artwork and momentous that were displayed and shared by several will be remembered. Such a great initiative and one that meant a lot to many.
